Poe-Co has an Acorn class (3- to 4-year-olds) and an Apple class (4- to 5-year-olds). Each class has 16 students. To be eligible for the Acorn class, a child needs to have turned 3 on or before September 1st the year they attend. They must be potty trained. To be eligible for the Apple class, a child needs to have turned 4 on or before September 1st the year they attend.

A family does not need to be zoned to Poe Elementary to attend Poe-Co. However, families zoned to Poe receive first priority. Many, although not all, of our students go on to attend Poe Elementary. If you are not zoned to Poe Elementary (find out at houstonisd.org), you can apply through the Magnet Program.
