Poe-Co is located near Houston’s Museum District on the campus of Poe Elementary, a Fine Arts Magnet School of HISD, at 5100 Hazard. Poe-Co is not an HISD school, but participates in many of the activities at Poe and mostly follows the school calendar. You do not need to be zoned to Poe to attend Poe-Co.

Poe-Co supports Poe’s annual fundraisers such as its annual Carnival in October and parent-social auction in the spring. Poe-Co is included in picture days, All Art Day, Book Fair, and other special events at big Poe. Some of Poe’s first and second graders mentor our students through a weekly “Book Buddy” program. Plus, our director has developed solid relationships with Poe’s staff and teachers and helps Apple parents prepare their children (and themselves) for kindergarten. In the spring, Apples get ready for kindergarten by visiting Poe’s classrooms and by practicing eating lunch in the big cafeteria.
