Our Approach
Poe Co is a parent cooperative. Parents and professional teachers work together to run the school, giving families a unique opportunity to be directly involved in their preschooler's education and experience. Poe Co develops a close-knit community that parents and children cherish for years to come.
Poe Co's curriculum is play-based and Reggio Emilia-inspired, designed to inspire creativity, confidence, and independence. Poe Co children spend much of their day playing, coming together for child-led storytelling, songs, dances, and games.

N.A.E.Y.C. Accreditation
In 1991, Poe Co became the first parent cooperative in the country to receive accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (N.A.E.Y.C.). We have been reaccredited every year since. This mark of excellence has been achieved by only 5% of early childhood programs nationwide.
Poe Cooperative Nursery School is licensed by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, and our Director, teachers, and staff meet all requirements and standards set by their licensing branch of Human Services. Poe Co standards far exceed the minimum standards set by the state.
